About hping : Command-line oriented TCP/IP packet assembler/analyzer!hping Installation on Mac
hping is a command-line oriented TCP/IP packet assembler/analyzer. hping interface is inspired to ping(8) command in unix, but it isn't only able to send ICMP echo requests. It also supports TCP, UDP, ICMP and RAW-IP protocols, it has a traceroute mode and the ability to send files between a covered channel.
Following things can be done using hping:
Steps:
- Firewall testing
- Advanced port scanning
- Network testing, using different protocols, TOS, fragmentation
- Manual path MTU discovery
- Advanced traceroute
- Remote OS fingerprinting
- Remote uptime guessing
- Auditing of TCP/IP stacks
- Useful for students to learn TCP/IP
Steps:
- Launch Terminal
- Run

brew install hping
